Our neighbors with a family of 5 are about to be a family of 4. Our neighbors and close friends are some of the best people we know. We were so happy they moved in on the block and into our hearts several years ago. Last November, one of their 11-month-old twins was diagnosed with Leukemia. Today, her body has rejected all treatments and she will lose her battle very soon. For 9 straight months, they have not spent more than 10 days as a whole family – with Mom and Dad alternating days/nights at the hospital to be with their baby while the other works/runs the household, and takes care of the other kids. If this weren’t enough, after good months and positive progress – the cancer spread. After trial drugs and hope through other kid’s stories – the cancer spread. There are now no more treatment options and she will die as a 1-year-old. While we do not know their full financial situation, the medical costs over the past year have to be a significant strain. We are raising money that can be used to cover some bills and – hopefully – to heal as a family with a vacation with their other 2 beautiful children – all who have endured hell through this process. The family is very humble and very private. Any funds raised would be given completely anonymously to the family. If you happen to know this family, please do not mention this effort. We appreciate you considering a contribution and understand that not everyone is in a position to do that. Regardless of a contribution, please keep this sweet family in your thoughts. Ben and Mary Ann
