Hello, our names are Jasmine & Kieran, and we have the absolute privilege of being Oakley's Mummy & Daddy. Oakley is a loving, affectionate, smart, kind, and just wonderful 2 year old. However, in March '23 we had the devastating news that she has a brain tumour, and once it was (mostly) removed and tested, we were told that it was cancerous. More specifically Oakley has one of the rarest pediatric brain tumours - Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumour (ATRT). This type of tumour is aggressive, and therefore requires equally aggressive treatment. Over the last 3 months Oakley has so far undergone 5 rounds of chemotherapy, countless blood tests, MRI scans, CT scans, surgeries, x-rays. You name it, she's probably had to go through it, but she has done it ALL with a smile. We have now reached a miraculous point in Oakley's treatment whereby there is no visible tumour on her MRI scans, but this is no where near the end of her journey. Soon we will be living in London for 6 weeks so that Oakley is able to undergo Proton Beam Therapy to specifically target the tumour bed and eradicate as many remaining tumour cells as possible. She will have treatment every single weekday morning while we are there, and will continue her chemotherapy regime alongside the radiotherapy. However, as we're sure everyone knows, London is an incredibly expensive place to be living for 6 weeks, which is why we are reaching out for help. Asking for help is not something that comes easily to us, but when our dear friend Hannah reached out for help for us back in April, everyone was so kind and made it clear that they just wanted to support us in any way they can. Please don't feel obligated to donate if you're not able to, your support is so appreciated in whatever way it comes ❤️ but while we're in London, it would be incredibly helpful to be able to afford food shopping & travel expenses and we would also like to try to take advantage of being stuck in such an incredible city and maybe take Oakley to some parks, museums, or maybe even the zoo! (Providing she's feeling up to it of course). All that to say, thank you to anyone who can donate. It's appreciated more than we could ever put in to words. Also a huge thank you to those who are just able to leave some kind words of support ❤️ Much love, The Jack-Herriott Family ❤️ (I've slightly increased the target due to LFEBridge fees, I'm sorry)
