Hi, my name is Andrew (Nomadurand) and I'm embarking on an 800km bike packing race with the hope of raising $800 for the EI Cure Project. Join us at: https//www.eicureproject.com/ Donate, here Follow my adventure: https://www.instagram.com/nomadurand/ The Log Driver’s Waltz is an 800 kilometre bikepacking loop consisting of about 75 percent unpaved riding surfaces that follows a mix of rural tree-lined gravel roads, rustic unmaintained roads, sections of rail trail, riverside roads, single lane paths and forested trails in the Ottawa Valley and Outaouais regions of eastern Ontario and western Quebec. https://www.logdriverswaltz.ca/ We would like to acknowledge the Anishinaabe (Algonquin People) for their care and stewardship of this land. In an email to us Elder Albert Dumont from Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg shared the following: “All the areas you refer to are on traditional Algonquin lands. You will be biking through places connected to the Ottawa River watershed. We are the 'People of the Great River'. You will see the greatness of our territory, its richness in resources and its wonderful waterways and spectacular trees. The Anishinabe, the People, had all they needed to live long, healthy and full lives in their territories before the arrival of Europeans occurred. I expect you will acknowledge this fact wherever and whenever you can as you move forward.” What I'm supporting When a disease is as rare as EI (1 in 300,000 births), there is no profit for pharmaceutical corporations to fund the research necessary to create a cure. Meaning if we don't fund them ourselves, the cure will NEVER be invented. That's why the EI Cure Project has contacted world-class genetics specialists to come and do it for us. No one works for free, that's why we created a foundation to be able to legally fund their research and the invention of a cure for EI through a grant. In raising funds I need the help of our loved ones and friends, i.e. you too, since you are reading this, so we will be grateful for every donation and any further sharing. And spread the word, let's go to the world. Help us achieve the impossible.
