10/20/2015, At the end of the day, they concluded an angiogram has to be done....tomorrow. Going thru her little leg up to her neck, then shooting dye directly into her brain. Watching as it flows through every vein in her brain. It's a risky procedure for a 5 month old, but what is the option? Bring her home and cross your fingers the next one won't make her a vegetable? Or worse,,,,,,,,,,,or is it?So then if it's what they are thinking it is she had an aneurysm deep in her brain. An aneurysm can cause a stroke. But it was in a completely different spot then the one she had in the womb. That's what has the doctors baffled. 2 strokes to different locations in 5 months. Not normal........ So.........if it is a weak blood vessel, or if if it still leaking, they will have to do brain surgery. If they break through a weak blood vessel with the dye, another stroke will occur. If there's a blood clot, it could break loose. But, what do you do, take her home and hope for the best??10/21/2015 Me - "Alicia are you ok?"Alicia - "Things aren't good. They couldn't get in there and fix it. Now we have to decide whether to go in and do surgery or just wait and see if it's going to rupture or not, which will most likely be fatal. They are deciding which is more of a risk. We are waiting to talk to the neuro surgeon. He will give us our options and then we will go from there. Then they still have to figure out why this is happening. I hate this..."This is the message I got from Alicia Harrington this afternoon. We're crushed. We're devastated. I can't even describe the feelings, it's a pain that is unreal.The angiogram wasn't a success, it was a......I don't even know the words for it. She has a blood vessel that is "leaking". It didn't burst yet. The blood is coagulated, which is why she is getting motion back in her arm and hand. They couldn't stent it because there are several other veins branching off of it and that would have stopped the blood from going into them. Now the concern that the coagulated blood can break apart and create a clot, or the blood vessel will go all the way and burst. Both being fatal. OR having brain surgery and praying the doctors know how to fix it. They were calling doctors all over the world today to consult.........Tomorrow morning the neuro surgeon will give them the option. It's unbelievable. You can't go home. No way, no how. Surgery, will she survive a surgery? Hopefully they have a plan. A good good plan.
