Hello my name is Pamela Norwood-Burnett I am a wife and a mother of 3 beautiful teen children. About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with an Autoimmune disease called Wegener's granulomatosis which is a cousin to cancer so I was treated and if I had cancer I went through 2 rounds of radiation and almost a year of chemotherapy nothing was helping this pseudo tumor that had collapsed my left lung and was traveling to the right lung shutting them down so the doctors in Texas said there was nothing else they could do but refer to to clinical trials and become a ginea pig. I reached out and found a wonderful group of doctors at the Mayo Clinic they are willing to help and found a solution to why this mass cant be stopped. My family and I traveled from Arizona to Minnesota within 1 week and they have came up with severals plans and steps on fighting this thing coming to found out that its not a tumor and its keloid scarring that has matured and everytime its touched it becomes aggregated and expands. Me and my husband will be going back to Minnesota at the beginning of February for a surgery to hopefully shrink the keloid enough so I can get the trachea taken out because its whats causing the keloid to grow ,me inhaling chemicals in the air just aggregate its the outcome of the surgery can go either way where they inject the steriod and it shrinks or they inject it and that aggregates it and it expands and cover the rest of the only airway I have left. So please keep my family up in pray as we make this journey next month I dont know the recovery time and I dont know how long we will have to stay in Minnesota. I thank everyone that has helped us this far but traveling expenses can become a little high so Im just asking for help to cover some of the expenses nothing is too little and anything helps.
