Hi, my name is Kyrstin and I’m fundraising for my mother and father. Maureen, known to those she loves the most as Nana, has been diagnosed with Dementia. Kevin, known as Bumpa, has had two strokes. The money has been tight and getting tighter. For both of their care, it costs about $7000 per month. While we are waiting for some funds to come in, we have come to a gap in our finances, and our ability as their children to cover costs. In order to provide her with the care she needs, we are asking for help to cover the gap. Every penny helps. BumpaNana, as my children call the two of them, are parents of 6, grandparents to 5 and to anyone else who needs a grandparent. They have hit old age hard and with tons of medical surprises from the two strokes in May 2024 to a new Dementia diagnosis in 2024. My sister and I have gotten them on Medicare, but it does not cover ANY care outside of direct medical. It does not cover medications (around $1k/month) at this time (it will in December 2024 hopefully), it does not cover the cost of memory care ($4k/month), and it does not cover groceries, supplements, or cost of living for Bumpa. We have some money expected to arrive in the next few months, but it is not here yet and we are working multiple jobs (my sister and I) to keep everything afloat. We can only do so much on our own as we have our own expenses and I have 2 young children.
