Hi friends, family and art enthusiasts, I started my career as a dancer in 1995 in New York City. It was a dream come true for me to grace some of the most prestigious stages all over the world such as Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Bowl, The Apollo Theater, The Kennedy Center, The Kodak Theater, and so many more. I performed alongside music greats such as Fania All Stars, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Sheila E and the likes. In 1999 another dream came true...acting. My Off-Broadway theater debut was in the smash hit “Quien Mato A Hector Lavoe”. I then left NYC to live in Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time. I had roles in Indie films, commercials, and so on. I continued dancing, had some more roles and then life started life-ing, marriage, kids, divorce and 5 years ago I pivoted into a male-dominated field. Whew! After over 15 years I am finally bringing my one-woman play to life, "Mami, What’s Your 20?", to the stage. It’s my biggest endeavor to date! In a nutshell, the play is the story of the impact that my mother figures had on my life, how I embraced motherhood and the trials and tribulations I survived to earn my class-A driver's license so I could drive big ass tractor-trailers to provide for my family as a single mom. I intended to fully fund this production but shortly after I paid the down payment for the theater I became unemployed. Unfortunately, the industry I work in is in the middle of two union strikes with no immediate ending in sight. Giving up is not an option so I am stepping out in faith knowing that I am my ancestor's wildest dreams and that God wouldn’t have put this idea in my heart for it not to become a reality. They say that fortune favors the bold so I am humbly asking for donations to bring yet another dream of mine to fruition. What will your donations go to? GREAT QUESTION! My goal is to raise $11,000 by September 22nd. All donations go directly towards the production to cover various costs such as venue rental, rehearsal space, promotional materials, and props. I know that these times can be trying, and any donation, no matter how small, helps. If you are not able to support in this way please spread the word to friends and family which is equally helpful. From the depths of my heart, I thank you! In gratitude, Nadeen
