Hi my name is jenny and im fundraising for my step dad who has been diagnosed with a rare disease called transverse myelitis. Its a very rare disease that inflames the spinal cord, The inflamation damages the nerves and can leave permanent scars or lesions. The scars or lesions interrupt the communication between the nerves in the spinal cord and the rest of the body leaving you paralyzed. This all started in october with covid which soon after led to bloodclots and leaving him paralyzed to where he cant walk. He was doing physical therapy and doing good for a little bit, getting his body strength back but had a sudden relapse and now his upper body is paralyzed and he has been in and out of the hospital since. This disease has been taking a toll on him and my mom who lost my sister in novemeber from an overdose, both physically and mentally with the doctors trying to figure out how to diagnose this disease that doctors don't know much about. My dad has been out of work since october and my mom has been trying to make ends meet with the bills but she can't leave my dad's side because he has no mobility in any part of his body and she has to constantly be helping him. The disability hasn't kicked in yet and it could take another couple months so I'm asking if anyone out of the kindness of their heart could help donate so that my mom is able to pay her bills while they're waiting for disability it would be so greatly appreciated for my family.
