Hi, my name is Denise and my son Devon had an unfortunate brush with death. After falling, he suffered an abrasion which eventually led to substantial swelling in his right arm. When arriving at the hospital he learned that he had been plagued with a flesh-eating bacteria and that his kidneys were in the process of shutting down. He was quickly rushed into surgery and told that if he had waited any longer that his arm could have been amputated. I'm happy to report they were able to remove all of the infected areas, which resulted in some skin grafting procedures. My son has been in ICU since being admitted almost 3 weeks ago. We have a long road to recovery and need assistance with all things medical. The incident took place in Charlotte, NC where my son was residing at the time, during his recovery he will be moving back in with me in Leland, NC. Which makes for many trips to and from the specialist in Charlotte and all of the requirements that come along with having a in-home aide. We would be extremely thankful if you could help us by contributing to this care fund which will go towards his medical treatment and all expenses associated with his recovery.
