Hello Everyone, Many of you know my mom, Kim, she is an absolute light in so many of our lives. Her radiant smile, her contagious laugh, and her warm and welcoming nature bring comfort to so many around her, but what some may not know is my mom and stepdad need help. In November 2024, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 recurrent metastatic uterine cancer which is not curable but is treatable. In December she started 1 of 9 chemotherapy treatments. With the chemo treatments, my mom became very fatigued, spacey, and sick, and she developed Neuropathy, which caused her to miss work starting in May and is still unable to work because of the fatigue and chemo brain. After my mom’s last chemo treatment, she chose to continue to have Avastin treatments to keep the cancerous tumor from growing, this has also caused her to get sick, her joints hurt off and on, it has raised her blood pressure, and caused swollen gums and jaw pain. During her chemo treatments she qualified for the family medical leave act, however, that has since been exhausted. She has applied for short-term disability while she continues the Avastin treatments every 3 weeks, but she is currently in “wait mode” if she is approved, she will only qualify for about 66% of her wages. Before my mom found out she had cancer she was 100% debt free which she worked so hard to be so that she could buy my nana’s (her mom’s) house after her passing. Today, she is back in debt and struggling to make her monthly bill payments. My stepdad, Bill, who is always so nice to everyone, has been incredible through this whole process, constantly helping my mom, taking care of her, taking her to all her appointments, and still trying to work and provide for her. Bill put his health on the back burner and now needs surgery himself which will put him out of work for 6-12 weeks. His left ankle is deformed and causes him a lot of pain and discomfort. During the time he is off, he will also be applying for short-term disability, but again, will only receive about 66% of his wages. The two of them need about $6k to get completely caught up on all their bills, including their mortgage. These two people have done so much for me, and my family, and I wish I could help them. However, I can only do so much, so I need your help. Anything, including a share, is appreciated beyond measure. Mom is embarrassed and humbled at having to ask for help, but the situation necessitates she asks. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, for sharing this and any donation you can make to help my mom and stepdad will mean the world to them.
