Hello, For anyone reading this who doesn't know me, let me give you a short introduction. My name is Colton Downing and I am a self-supporting junior at The University of Arizona. I am a full-time worker and student, whose dream is to see the world, and do my part to make it a better place in the process. I was recently accepted into the International Student Volunteer (ISV) program, and have the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica next summer. The program gives students the opportunity to learn about foreign culture while volunteering to help maintain the health of Costa Rica’s' ecological system. I am trying to cover some of the cost for the program out of pocket, but need help to make this dream a reality. The program itself costs $4,790. After accounting for international air fare, mandatory travel insurance, tuition for school, and other miscellaneous expenses, the cost of the program totals $7,900. To family and friends reading this who usually buy me gifts for my upcoming birthday or Christmas, contributing to this would be the greatest gift you could give me. Not only would you help give me the experience of a lifetime, but you would also be investing in the amazing work that ISV does across the globe to create a happier, healthier planet. This program means so much to me because I am a Global Studies major who has never been outside of the United States. I want to experience something outside of what I know, push myself to new heights, and have the knowledge that what I am doing is helping something besides myself.
