My long-time childhood friend, Vanessa, is one of the fiercest women I know. She’s incredibly independent, intelligent, talented, and determined. She will never ask for help, even during the most difficult of circumstances, which is why I’m asking for your help…for her. A little bit about Vanessa. She’s a mom to a beautiful 5-year-old, an Interior Designer and when she has time; an artist. She is one of the realest people I know! She won’t sugarcoat or beat around the bush, and I believe that’s what makes her so lovable (I’m sure she’s rolling her eyes at me right now reading this lol). The situation: One day, she experienced a scary headache and after hours at the E.R. and an angiogram at Mayo, she found out that she has three brain aneurysms. Luckily they are all small. However, the brain surgeon explained that the larger aneurysm should be clipped now rather than later through a craniotomy. Because it is odd-shaped it could possibly pose a greater risk of rupturing. The other 2 will be monitored and it will be decided at a later date how to deal with these. Hopefully, these stop growing and can be monitored for a long time, but she may need another brain surgery in the future. Fortunately, Vanessa has a pretty great support system, family members, friends and colleagues who will be helping her post-surgery. Unfortunately, this is brain surgery…which requires Vanessa to be out of work for 6 weeks. She could use some help making up for lost wages and paying for the medical bills. Thank you!
