This is Diane unfortunately Steven Vaughan was on a motorcycle accident Saturday morning this is what Ashley posted Today has definitely been a hard one. Steven Vaughan was in a motorcycle accident this morning. A car (who didn't see him) pulled onto the road infront of him. He hit the car on the back drivers door and was thrown over the car. He was taken to Baytown Methodist to get stabilized. There they found both his lungs had collapsed. They were able to get them reinflated. He was then life flighted to the Trauma Center at Hermann Memorial. There they accessed him and found a brain bleed, 2 broke ribs on the right, 6 broke ribs on the left, multiple facial fractures, and a shattered right wrist. He is under heavy sedation and pain medication. He is on a ventilator because he is on so much medication its hard for him to breath on his own. He has tubes inserted in his chest cavity to release air build up and the blood in his lungs. They are watching his brain bleed closely to make sure it doesn't cause pressure to his brain. As of right now it's just a praying game. Pray that he makes it through the night without any complications. Thank you all for your love and prayers. Keep them coming as we're not out of the woods yet. I will keep everyone updated to the best of my ability. He is goin to be put of work for awhile and bills don't stop anything helps even a prayer! Thank u!! Update from Ashley! Hes still got a long road to recovery so please if u can help out!! Update 2: His surgery has been pushed back to 12:30. Update on Steven Vaughan. He was a lot more reactive today. Opened his eyes, thumbs up, toe wiggles on command. He was able to squeeze my hand back. His lungs are slowly getting better but not out of the woods. Still had his chest tubes in and on a ventilator. He is scheduled for surgery on his wrist & forearm tomorrow at 10 a.m. We are hoping to get him off the sedation and vent soon but just playing it by ear. When we know something more I'll update when I can. Thank you all for your kindness and prayers. They are helping more than you know. Goodnight.
