Update: Cody has a hole inbetween his mechanical valve and his heart. We are now having to go to Cleveland Clinic. Hi guys. Out of respect for Cody we haven’t been open about what’s going on with him medically. On July 26th I took Cody to CAMC Memorial he was having SVT with a heart rate of 245. He had to have medication to stop his heart as well as shocked to correct his heart rhythm. He had an ablation on his heart to try and help with the arrhythmia as well. He went through numerous tests the next few days. Found out that he has severe Aortic Stenosis due to a Bicuspid Aortic Valve birth defect and needs to have open heart surgery to replace his Aortic Valve. To mix in with all of this he had an infection due to the hardware located in his clavicle from a previous surgery so, we have to clear that up before we proceed with anything. We were sent home with instructions to consult with Orthopedics then the Cardio Thoracic Surgeon. August 1st Cody called me telling that he was having another episode of SVT with his heart rate at 204. By the time I got there from work he was pale, weak, and couldn’t speak. I called EMS and they rushed Cody back to CAMC Memorial. They fixed his heart rhythm and decided he’s not aloud to leave the hospital and that they need to expedite all the surgeries. On August 4th Cody had surgery on his shoulder and everything went great. He’s on antibiotics and they are now planning open heart surgery early next week. Once healed from that he will see a Electrophysiologist to correct his SVT and arrhythmia with another possible ablation and permanent pacemaker. Our whole world has flipped upside down. We have a lot of people supporting us behind the scene with the kids and other worries. We are extremely grateful for them. Cody wanted me to post this because he’s worried about not working and providing for his family. Anything given we appreciate more than you know and will be used directly for bills, gas, and the kids. Cody does not wish to be talked to or have visitors at this time. If anyone has any questions you may contact myself.
