Dear Friends, Family, and loved ones of Monica, We are reaching out to you today to raise funds for our dearest friend and sister, Monica. Monica is an incredible individual, known for her selflessness and unwavering generosity. She has dedicated her time and resources to various volunteer organizations in addition to now prioritizing her time as the treasurer for the CHD (Congenital Heart Defect) coalition and the Sparta FD Ladies Auxiliary. Monica has faced numerous challenges throughout her life. At the age of 3, she underwent open heart surgery to repair a congenital heart defect called atrial septal defect. Despite the difficulties she encountered, Monica always maintained a positive spirit and an inspiring resilience. However, life has thrown another hurdle in her path. In June 2024, at the age of 33, Monica was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, triple-negative breast cancer. Triple-negative breast cancer represents a small portion of breast cancer cases (10%), but it is known to be more aggressive, harder to treat, and more likely to recur than hormone receptor-responsive cancers. Monica has already embarked on an aggressive treatment plan, which includes undergoing two weeks of daily injections, bloodwork, and ultrasounds for the egg freezing process to preserve her fertility, along with surgery for her chest port. Currently, she is undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions, which will continue for six months. Following this, Monica will undergo major surgery and reconstruction, followed by additional rounds of radiation. As Monica faces these immense challenges, she continues to display tremendous strength and maintain a positive attitude throughout her journey. As her friends and loved ones, we are determined to support her in any way we can. We want to alleviate the financial burden that accompanies her cancer treatments so that she can fully focus on her recovery and conquer her diagnosis. The funds we raise through this LFEBridge campaign will go directly to Monica to assist with her medical bills and treatment needs. Every single donation, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference in supporting Monica's journey towards healing.
