Hi everyone, in April of this year my mother became diagnosed with stage 3 metastatic breast cancer. My whole family kept this a secret from as many people as we could. However, it is finally time for us to ask for some help. Although I was still in school at the time of her diagnosis, I was forced to take on a lot of responsibility to care for her. She is unable to work because of how harsh the treatment is, and her sole income is now from weekly disability checks that don't even cover half of our bills. Now, I am currently working 2-3 jobs, and my father is as well. My family has struggled financially since I was a child, and my mother's diagnosis just took us by surprise and set us back even further. It is honestly so hard to even make this fundraiser because we hate asking people for help or money (especially me). But it's time to swallow our pride because we would much rather ask for help and raise money than work ourselves to death trying to do it ourselves. My mother is the strongest person I know by far. Seeing her like this honestly breaks my heart. When I say that any amount helps, I truly mean it.
