I’m fundraising on behalf of my friend Winter who desperately needs to replace her scooter that just suffered an end of life event. Due to ongoing medical conditions including being immunocomprimised, without the scooter, Winter would be unable to get to medical appointments, volunteering and teaching commitments and generally be confined to her place with no independence. Winter gave me permission to set this up on her behalf, reluctantly as she hates having to ask for help for anything. But she needs it and quite frankly deserves this more than anyone I know. She has always been there for everyone, a fierce advocate for the cities homeless or under housed/ underfed and underpaid population for services, in some cases even offering a place to stay, and food. She taught me 25 years ago that I didn’t have to apologize for being a woman and could take up space and make a stand for what I believed in and has been my inspiration for my own continued advocacy and activism for women, for suitable access for all to food housing and mental health services. Now is the time for her community to step up and help fund her independence!! Please join me in contributing to this!!
