Our beloved mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in June. Through testing, it was diagnosed as adenocarcinoma in the right lung and an invasive cancer called small cell carcinoma in the left lung. Our mom will undergo surgery on August 10th to remove the upper lobe of the left lung at Anshutz Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. About a month after surgery she will start an aggressive chemotherapy regimen, and they will then discuss the course of treatment for the right lung which could include another surgery and/or radiation. They say when it rains it pours. This diagnosis couldn't have come at a worse time. Many of you know our dad was in a very bad work accident a little over a year ago and he is still not back to work full-time as he has had many surgeries and is still in his recovery period from the injuries he sustained. With many visits back and forth to Colorado for doctor appointments, the upcoming surgery, being out of work after surgery, having little to no PTO to cover her recovery days, and all of the subsequent treatment, it would be an extreme blessing for them to have some help to cover medical expenses, travel, and lodging. We appreciate any help you can provide to our mom and dad. Love, Amy, Heather, Megan, and Carly
