Those of you that don’t know, Chelsea Hawkins’ water ruptured at 17 weeks pregnant on May 10th, 2024. She was put on strict bed rest from that moment forward, only to get up for showering, using the bathroom , and going to weekly doctor appointments. Because of this Bradley has had to miss several days of work, going without pay. And having to have close family members help with their other 3 children; Lainey, Clara and Ronan. At 21 weeks 6 days Chelsea was admitted to Nortons Hospital Downtown to be closely monitored until she had Myla. On Saturday, July 1st at 2:24 am, Chelsea gave birth to Myla Promise Hawkins at 24 weeks 4 days gestation. Weighing 1 pound 7 ounces and 11.5 inches long via Emergency C Section. While it was a miracle that Chelsea was able to protect Myla in her womb for as long as she possibly could , she was still extremely early and has a long road ahead of her. At this time nobody really knows how long she will be in the NICU, but each day she is getting a little bit stronger. As you can imagine, being a single income family, it can be a huge financial burden when you miss a lot of work days. With Myla being in the NICU at Nortons Children’s Hospital an hour away from their home you can imagine the cost of having to drive up there multiple times a week. Not only that but while Chelsea was in the hospital the alternator went out in their van, being the only vehicle they have that can transport all their children at the same time. This has been what the grandparents have been driving for the last 2-3 weeks while keeping the kids while Bradley was at work. With that being said they have had a lot of unplanned expenses over the last month and will more than likely have more. At this time, any type of donation would be appreciated for this family.
