Hi, my name is Lisa Robinson and I am fundraising for my father “Eddie Fitz” (Edward H. Fitzgerald Jr) who is 92 with Alzheimer’s. My Dad is a Korean War vet, middleweight boxer in the Navy and founder and editor of the SS Salem ship newsletter, a celebrated Boxing Referee for Ring 4 Boston for 50 years, appeared in the movie The Fighter as the announcer (10 minutes in). He served as Commander of the VFW Lexington Mass for many years, mentored boxers and youth at risk at the Somerville Boxing Gym, and was a charter member of the US Military Vets Motorcycle Club Boston Chapter. He initiated numerous scholarships for young athletes through the VFW and Somerville High School. In addition to his passionate volunteer work empowering youth my father met his personal demons and is a recovering alcoholic of 39 years. Our family is committed to keeping Dad at home with his wife during this trying time of declining health. He needs funds in any amount; even a dollar will help pay for his round the clock skilled care. 100% of funds will go directly to his care. Prayers accepted also!
