I am creating this so we all can bless the Mertens family with prayers and support during this hard time. Michelle has always gone above and beyond to take care of others and support them and now is our chance to help and bless them! As many of you know she has been diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She has now done 2 round of chemo and has been so thankful for all the help and support given so far. I thought that this might be a way for those of us who are unable to bring meals or send cards could help raise some money to help with the extra trips to the doctors, grabing meals on the go and just the little things. Here is a post from her daughter Sarah, "A few weekends ago we found out my mom had stage four ovarian cancer. The odds are not good, but we have decided we are going to fight the cancer. We appreciate all the help and prayers people have given. I'm posting this so that everyone will know, if anyone has any questions or want up dates I'll be making a page with up dates on how she is doing and knowledge on what's going on." A update from Michelle, "I wanted to update Sarah Mertens Jones post about my Cancer and say I BIG THANK YOU to every one who has CLEANED SENT CARDS, PRAYERS and FOOD so far the out pouring of support has been fantastic and very much appreciated!!! I want all to know that while I fully intend to fight this cancer with every stubborn bit of me ( some of you know how stubborn) God is Sovereign in all things and I stand firmly in the center of His will at all times and wish to be no where else!! To live is Christ to die is gain. Phil 1:21 I rest in the fact that God works all things together for good for those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose Romans 8:28!!We are working on the general plan if 9 weeks of chemo therapy in Lincoln ( I just started week 2) followed by Surgery in Omaha around Christmas time followed by more chemo then see."
