On Friday July 14 2024 Michael Thompson was riding 4 wheelers with his best friend in the late afternoon. After hitting the gas to go over a bump out in a pasture, the 4 wheeler went 7 feet in the air and all 750lbs landed on top of Michael. After being taken by ambulance and being seen at the Gregory ER it was found out he recieved 5 broken ribs and 3 broken vertebrae’s. Ribs 4-8 and vertebrae’s T10-T12. Saturday July 15th(which happened to be his 36th birthday) at 2am he was flown to Sioux Falls avera mckennan. After receiving an MRI the nuero surgeon team has opted to do surgery to put rods and screws in T12 vertebrae due to instability and possible further damage. This surgery will mean about a week stay in mckennan and 3 months recovery with PT and whatever else, which means Michael can not work. We are asking for any help with the medical bills and additional bills during this time. This is something we did not expect and we are not prepared for, especially with Michael being out of work for potentially the next 3-6 months. please send prayers and any help is appreciated!
