Hello friends, families, and supporters of the Monterey High School Music Department!Over the past 4 years, the music program at Monterey High School has undergone a wonderful transformation. We have experienced growth in the number of students enrolled, and a surge in support from the school, community, and families of musicians. We are asking for your assistance once again to help create a positive, musically and socially benificial expereince for our student musicians.This year, our Concert Band and String Orchestra are hoping to attend a Festival of Music in Southern California in May. We have been attending local festivals for the past three years, and would like to expand our horizons. Traveling out of the area is benifical to the groups for many reasons. We would benifit from evaluation by judges who are not previously familiar with our group. We would be able to see other bands and orchestra and how their music programs function. And we would be able to deepen our bonds with one another by venturing into unknown territory together. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help offset the cost of transporting our group to and from this event. If you have ever traveled with a group for any event, you know how special this experience will be.
