Hi all! Michelle here. I’ve decided to start this fundraiser to help offset the costs associated with getting my bestest friend and literal other half, Melissa, a permanent service dog and the training necessary for it to help her gain some independence as well as all the medical expenses associated with her condition. For those that don’t know, on April 24, 2024, Melissa suffered an anaphylactic reaction at work that triggered a series of medical complications. She has been struggling since this time with continued anaphylactic reactions almost daily. She has since been diagnosed with Chronic Idiopathic Anaphylaxis and also treating for Mast Cell Activation. She requires someone with her at all times because the reactions happen frequently and unexpectedly at times and she is unable to retrieve her life-saving medication on her own. The goal is to get her stable enough to gain some independence and having a service dog will help by being trained to alert to the reactions as soon as they begin and retrieve her medication for her when she is unable. Her condition is life long and will never go completely away. Hopefully the medications will help her become stable enough to return to work and to LIFE again! Melissa is one of the strongest people I know and has an amazing support system in her family. Being home bound is the absolute worst for the bubbly, energetic person we all love! Let’s help get her back to being able to “people” again!! Melissa would absolutely never ask for this because she is always the one trying to help others. Now it’s OUR time to help her!!
