Hello, We are reaching out on behalf of our mother, Laurie Fitzpatrick. Recently, our world turned upside down when our amazing mom became sick on June 4th. Seeing our once happy and energetic mom go to bedridden has been both a shock and extremely difficult. She was eventually hospitalized on June 14th and we began our journey for answers. She has undergone every test imaginable and still no clear answer. She had a bone marrow biopsy done which had conflicting results from Mayo and the University of Michigan. We are told most likely looking at Mass Cell disorder with HLH. The emotional turmoil we're going through is indescribable and witnessing her battle every day is difficult. We were able to start treatment for the HLH with Chemo last week. However, her liver levels elevated, and treatment had to be stopped. We had hoped the levels would go down and she would be able to do more treatments but so far that is not the case. While we wait for the results for the last remaining test my mom becomes weaker and more depressed. Anyone who knows our mom knows she loves her children, grandchildren, and all animals. Especially her dog, Murphy. Being in a hospital for so long has not only caused her emotional distress but also a financial burden. She has been unable to work, and the medical bills are mounting. With the eventual diagnosis still looming over our heads we are told most likely she will need a longer stay at a higher-level treatment center like the University of Michigan. Any money we receive will go toward her current medical bills and the treatment needed at the University of Michigan. We ask that you help in any way you can. 1. Please share this link 2. If you can, consider donating, no matter how small to help us during this time 3. Above all, we ask for any prayers and positive thoughts for our mom's recovery.
