As many of you know, my sister’s cancer has returned. In the last 5 years, she has been through more than anyone should ever have to endure. Since receiving the news that she had stage IV cancer, she has had over 100 rounds of chemo (and will have to continue chemo indefinitely), has had part of her colon and liver removed, 2 different ports, several liver ablations, HIPEC, an ostomy (and reversal), ovaries removed, 3x weekly infusions, radiation multiple times, countless biopsies and scans, and terrible side effects. She continues to be the best mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, etc. through all of this and still always puts everyone before herself. She even continues to work full-time through it all. I truly don’t know how she does it all, but now she is faced with even more challenges. With the recent scans, her oncologist would like her in a clinical trial that is not offered at Siteman. Not only has she been traveling to St. Louis at least every other week for the last 5 years, but now she will also most likely be traveling out of the area which will include more hotel stays, hospital bills, and even flights. With everything she currently has to worry about, I’m opening this in hopes to be able to take some of the financial burden off of her. Every donation is more appreciated than you know!
