Hello everyone, My name is Tiffany and if you know me, you know I'm too independent for my own good at times, & hate asking for help. As some of you know, Chris and I were blessed in May with our perfect 6 pound 11 oz baby girl, Xyla-Marie. At her one month checkup, her doctors were concerned that she was not gaining the appropriate amount of weight. Many appointments followed; including two trips to the Emergency Room. During that second trip, I voiced my concerns about her disinterests in finishing a full bottle along with her noisy wet sounding breathing after a feed, and so we got admitted for testing. Come to find out, our poor little one had a rare case of laryngomalacia along with a vallecular cyst on the back of her tounge; which needed a surgery to be fixed. Until the surgery day came a NG tube was Inserted in her nose so that she would be able to recieve the amount of milk needed to thrive and grow. The surgery went great. We tried going back to feeding from a bottle, even though she was doing much better at taking it than before, she would still choke and cough at times. More testing was done which showed she was aspirating into her lungs. It being unsafe for her to consume orally we must keep the NG tube in for feedings. We have been in the hospital for 15 days and it could be another week before we are able to go home, and when we do, the NG tube will be coming with us. This means we will need the equipment required to properly feed her through it along with many follow up appointments and home visits to care for our little angel. The medical bills and expenses are outrages along with the fees of everyday living it is going to be a struggle for us to keep up. That is why I am asking for your kindness and generosity if you are able to help support us in this journey we would be eternally grateful. If you are unable we absolutely understand, sharing would be just as appreciated to get the word around for those who can. From the bottom of our beings, thank you so much to everyone who has sent us love & light and prayers in our time of need & who continue to support us through these unforseen circumstances. We could never properly express our gratitude and appreciation for all of you. Please know you are in our hearts and your kindness will never be forgotten. Much love & light, The Mowry family.
