Hi, my name is Marie, I am trying to help raise funds for my friend Grace and her new baby Omaleigh. July 13th Grace was placed on hospital bed rest early in her pregnancy. Everything was going pretty well for her until the morning of July 21st when she received some pretty scary news regarding what was happening to her. In order to save her and baby Omaleigh an emergency c section was the only option at only 27 weeks and 4 days. Immediately Grace’s sweet parents made arrangements to be there as soon as they could. Grace had her emergency c section at 5:00 PM. At 5:29 P.M. sweet little Omaleigh Nell Huey entered the world weighing in at 1 lb 9 oz and 14.25 inches long. Grace is nothing short of a warrior. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life. I feel so honored to of been able to be with her during her c section, the way she has handled this entire situation is incredible and she is the bravest person I think I’ve ever met. When they told me I could come out and see Omaleigh before they took her to the nicu I didn’t know what to expect. I was so happy when I saw her, she was beautiful! They told us her labs were good and they were expecting her to be off of intubation quite quickly. She was taken off of intubation the next day! She has been improving daily which is extremely relieving especially with how unpredictable this entire pregnancy has been for her. Graces recovery that night and the following days were extremely scary. She had to receive 4 blood transfusions because of blood loss and dealt with some very scary blood pressures before during and after the c section. She is doing much better and was discharged from the regular hospital today. This long road is far from over seeing that baby Omaleigh will be in the nicu for around 9 more weeks until she is able to come home. Financially, this is going to be extremely stressful especially for a new mother who is having to do it on her own. In hopes that we can maybe lift some of that financial burden for Grace please consider a donation, anything helps and we will all be extremely thankful. Thank you!
