Hello, my name is Dianne, and as many of you know, my step-daughter's brother, Dominick was diagnosed with Leukemia this past week. He is currently at Pittsburgh Children's Hospital undergoing treatment, and he is expected to have to stay for a few more weeks. this is going to be a long, hard road for all of them, so this LFEBridge was created to help ease the cost of medical bills for his mother, Kathryn, and with being unable to work, and having to travel back and forth to Pittsburgh. any help is greatly appreciated. Updates from Kathryn: 06/28 ❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ If your child ever tells you something on them hurts, even if you think it’s a joke, never hesitate to take them to the hospital. Dominick told me his heart hurt yesterday afternoon, and I was almost hesitant but we went right to the ER. Fast forward- we are now in Pittsburgh at the Children’s Hospital with a diagnosis of Leukemia. It IS treatable and he is starting chemotherapy tomorrow morning. After months of Dominick being persistently sick without having a steroid shot for what we were told were allergies and we finally have answers. Nothing we ever wanted to hear but it was caught and he is literally in the best care he can be right now. This is every mothers absolute worst nightmare and my poor baby doesn’t deserve to go through this. 06/29: Dominick will be going soon for a lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy and have a PICC line put in. He will receive chemotherapy after that. I’ll keep everyone as updated as I know more. I more than appreciate all the texts/messages/calls checking on Dominick AND everyone asking about Angelina as well. 06/30: Dominick just finished his first day of chemotherapy. He had 3 medicines through his IV. He is doing well!! thank you so much for everyone who has sent him e-cards so far! He’s been a little grumpy but when he’s feeling up to it we will read him them all ❤️ 07/01: Doms white blood count is down to 34 from almost 90s. Chemo is WORKING! also, results from the spinal tap show no cancer in his spinal fluid which is awesome news as well! He is finally allowed to eat today, hoping to have the drain tube from his heart removed and get taken off the high flow oxygen so he can get out of the icu and move to the floor!! ❤️ I’m seriously beyond thankful and grateful for all of the cards he still keeps receiving, everyone who’s been reaching out and thinking of us all!! This is something I never thought I’d have to watch my baby go through but he’s a champ, he’s doing so amazing given the last few days and being so brave. My little guy is a fighter and it’s a long road but we’re off to a good start. ⚡️ 07/02: High flow oxygen came off yesterday, drained more fluid around his heart but as long as there’s no more when they check again today/tomorrow, he can have the drain come out They said he is doing so well that’s the only thing stopping him from leaving the ICU right now and on to the floor. The nurse said we can take a little wheelchair ride and get out of this room later, and he’s looking forward to that. 07/03: They drained more fluid from around Dominick’s heart today and are keeping the drain. They’ll do another echo tomorrow to see if it can come out. Once that does, he will leave the ICU. He had another chemo treatment today and will have another on Friday.  Also got a special visitor today huge thank you to my best friend for bringing me my little girl ❤️ 07/04: they removed the drain from Dominicks heart today! We will be leaving the ICU in about a half hour when they have his room ready. Every small move is a one step closer to at least being home and one more day done on this journey.  I LOVE YOU DOM
