If someone was ever in need and he was able to meet the need, he made sure they had it! The time has come in Bo's life where he is need of his family & friends to come together on his behalf and help carry the burden of the financial strain that medical expenses & future living expenses have left him with. To those of you who are not aware of Bo's health, he had kidney cancer in 2018. The drs were able to remove one of his kidneys and completely rid his body of the cancer but he was still left to battle rheumatoid arthritis and continue with infusions to help tolerate his everyday pain. His health continued spiraling downward after testing positive for covid in 2024. Shortly after covid, he began having heart issues which led to his wife having to become his full time caregiver. In April of 2024, Bo received the diagnosis of Merckle Cell Carsonomia in his left ankle, that soon traveled to his knee, hip/groin area. Bo began having severe chest/back pain for the past three months but he continued to make the trip to Moffitt Cancer Center every two weeks for his cancer treatment & numerous visits to a local er for some sort of explaination & relief. To no avail, he went to the Er, Wednesday June 28th 2024, on Thursday the drs agreed that an endoscopy/colonoscopy should be done the following Monday to find out what was causing the excursiating pain he was experiencing. On Friday he became paralyzed. Sunday July 2nd, drs here in Panama City were able to make contact with Shands Hospital & were hopeful that if he were able to get there and have surgery that the drs would be able to reverse his spinal condition. Once at Shands, an mri was done and it was discovered that the cancer now has reached the mid section of his back and has attached itself to his chest cavity and wrapped itself around a few different places on his spinal cord. They were unable to do the surgery because they said he would not survive it. The plan now is he will have 5 days of radiation to shrink the cancer so he will not be in constant pain but he will remain paralyzed from the bottom of his breast bone - downward. Between the multiple trips to Moffit & the recent renovations to make their house handicap accessible, Bo & Latrisha and both of their families have exhausted all savings & financial means. Our family is asking for assistance from our friends & family to help us meet Bo's now basic everyday needs that will include a handicap accessible van, a wheel chair ramp and several home health care items.
