Hi, my name is Cheryl and On Thursday, June 30 @ approximately 11:45 pm my uncle Tracy was riding his motorcycle home from work at Spirit Mountain where he worked as a Security Specialist when he got hit by a deer on Highway 18. His foot was nearly completely severed as a result of the impact. He was able to keep his bike upright which probably saved his life. He underwent surgery #1 @ OHSU on Saturday the 1st where they reattached his foot. He has many, many months of recovery ahead of him as well as at least two more surgeries. As a result of this accident unfortunately he is losing his job and his insurance. The price of medical insurance as everyone knows is crazy expensive. The household income will cover most of the monthly bills with the exception of medical bills, (thankfully for the first surgery he still had medical insurance) food, gas and anything extra. My Aunt and Uncle have worked very hard to get where they are and now this horrible accident has brought un-needed stress, sadness, and unknowns. They have a very long road ahead of them. We were hoping and praying that he would be able to keep his job on some sort of level so that he could continue to have medical insurance. However, they found out he can't and that is why I have started this fundraiser for them. It has been difficult for them to swallow their pride and ask for help. The following is a little note from my Aunt and Uncle. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you all for your prayers and support. People have come together with groceries and some meals and one neighbor even dropped by a grocery gift card. It is very humbling to ask for help but here we are. Asking for help. If you’re able to help us that is amazing. If not your prayers are needed just as much as we don’t know if he’s even going to get to keep his foot yet. Thank you all. Sincerely.
