Hi everyone, it’s Amelia! Many of you know that my incredible mom has lived with kidney disease for 15 years now. She has never stopped moving, is always generous with her time and willingness to do all that she can for others, and hasn’t ever let the disease alter her way of life (aside from the foods she eats). We are excited yet anxious to announce that she is expected to have a kidney transplant by the end of this year! Someone has graciously offered to donate one of their kidneys directly to my mother as an enormous gift of love, which has allowed the transplant team at the hospital to move forward with this operation. While this new development brings a lot of different thoughts and feelings for our family, our current focus is on relieving the financial burdens that will come after surgery. The operation, plus lifelong medication and doctor’s visits, will not be fully covered by insurance, so we are asking for help. If you are able and willing to contribute, we thank you so, so much! If not, that’s perfectly fine- we would appreciate you keeping my mom and the donor in your prayers. I know that she is loved much more than she may realize, and any words of encouragement sent her way as the time gets closer would be a blessing. Thank you!
