In January 2015, I receive a call from my ex husband and friend telling me he was "very sick" and that he had been to the hospital several times seeking medical help.  Due to the fact that his, as well as an entire group of people, lost their jobs after his company had been purchased by another company, was unable to afford medical insurance, so ultimately, it was not easy for him to get medical care due to the lack of insurance.  During the 8 months that followed, I sent him to the ER multiple times, each time, he was discharged without tests being performed.  I exhausted all of my funds and accrued a large credit card debt trying to help with his personal needs and provide shelter from the outside elements, as he had lost his place of residence.  After many attempts to seek care, begging to be tested, as he felt that something was "desperately wrong inside of me", I received a call the end of August.  He was very sick and had given up hope, telling me where to find his remains.  I sent him money for gas and gave him a precise message to take to the hospital.  They did a CT Scan of the abdomen and found a large tumor on the pancrease with lymph involvement, tumors in the groin with full lymph involvement.  September 2, he was given a diagnosis of Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma.  I called a local Doctor friend who made some phone calls that started the wheels in motion.  A PET Scan was ordered which revealed multiple tumors throughout his body.  He has spent the last 11 days in the hospital and was discharged yesterday, October 22, to an Adult Foster Home and admitted to Hospice.  He has possibly 4 weeks - 2 months left to live.  The expenses continue grow as new needs manifest. We would be most grateful for any help.
