Hello everyone my name is Tameika and I'm the mother of Jazzmine Pitts. Some of you may have watched and followed her medical journey and know that she battles with epilepsy. She began having seizures at 2yrs old until, 9 then she was seizure free until the age 19 while she was away in college. During her 4yrs at Gambling University she began having seizures every 2.5-3 months and they've continued to invade her body. By the grace of God she pushed forward and stayed focused and still managed to graduated with good grades. Well after a year of studies and 3yrs of trying to find the right medication for her and several trips to UCLA for treatment and tests it has been recommended that we go forward with brain surgery. This is a decision that we have tried to put off and prolong being that she finally went longer than 3 months without having a seizure. The day that we met with surgeon in 7/12/23 she had been 5 months without but unfortunately the stress of that conversation triggered her and she had a seizure later that evening. Surgery took place on 11/15/2024 and took 8hrs to remove the affected brain sections. So we are in recovery mode now I put this together because we will need to get a place to stay for 2 weeks during her surgery time in which I will be out of work and being that is not medical treatment for myself I won't be getting paid. I will be out of work taking care of her during her recovery time of 4-6 weeks and will need financial support to continue to take care of home while taking care of her.
