When I first met Meagan, I was struggling with undiagnosed Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) myself. I had very little support but she was there for when I was going through the worst of it and she helped me feel less alone. Now I'm asking you to help her, while she is going through the worst of it. I'm sure we've all known someone with a peanut allergy and how serious it can be if they are exposed, MCAS is like that, but the "peanut" could be anything from scents and poor air quality to environmental allergies and stress. Meagan's MCAS can cause severe allergic reactions and debilitating symptoms, forcing her to take time off work which is why I'm reaching out to you now. Meagan's reactions are getting worse and more frequent, requiring new medication, doctors appointments and even a trip to the emergency room. She has even had to step away from her volunteer work at NAMI Utah (https://www.namiut.org/). As you can expect, increased medical costs paired with an inability to work as many hours is stressing her financially. She has exhausted all leave options at work, but still needs added time to rest and allow her body to heal, especially on bad days. Meagan has given so much of herself to so many, so, if you are able, please consider donating to give her the time and resources needed to heal and maintain her treatment plan, thank you.
