God is moving and has made a way for Pookie to see a more experienced specialist to help in his battle! Jenny and Pookie will be headed to Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota! Since Pookie's diagnosis of CLIPPERS (Chronic Lymphocytic Inflammation with Pontine Perivascular Enhancement Responsive to Steroids), Jenny has desperately been seeking experienced medical help related to this disease. It is a VERY RARE condition and they found that Mayo Clinic in Rochester has a neurologist that has seen and treated more cases of CLIPPERS than any other doctor. Pookie will undergo lots of testing and a full evaluation while there. They both fly out on August 6th for 9 days of testing. Mayo Clinic wanted them to stay for 20 days but worked with them to get that down to just 9. They fly into Minneapolis St Paul Minnesota, then rent a car to drive to Rochester - about an hour and a half away. Unfortunately, there is not a facility like Hope Cancer Retreat there, but they were able to get a bed and breakfast near the hospital for their stay. Thank you to everyone that came forward over the past 4 1/2 months to support Pookie. Your prayers, donations, visits, posts, meals, letters etc.. have all meant so much to them both and helped get them through a very difficult time. We are hoping to help prepare Jenny and Pookie for this next phase of his recovery. God has not brought him this far to not continue the fight!
