My husband, Martin who is 47 years old has recently been diagnosed with terminal Gallbladder cancer. This cancer has spread to his liver and abdomen and we have been told that it is too aggressive to treat. Martin and I have been together for 24 years and married for 15 years, having just had our wedding anniversary. I love him with all my heart and can’t imagine life without him. We have 9 wonderful children and 10 grandchildren that he loves endlessly. He’s worked his whole life to provide for his family to make sure that we had the best life possible. Martin is heartbroken that he will no longer be able to work. On the 8th June Martin attended hospital because he had pains which he believed to be gallbladder stones. Martin has never attended the hospital for an illness, so we knew something wasn’t right. Martin ended up going back and forth to the hospital and it eventually resulted in him being in hospital for 4 weeks. Martin was/is on extremely high pain relief but it did not ease. The hospital extracted liquid from his infected gallbladder and identified the liquid to look cancerous. It took 1.5 weeks for him to have the biopsy due to the infection being so sever. We were all left anxious and scared because we were told that they could not do anything until the infection went down, but they could not tell us when this would be. On Tuesday 4th July Martin had his biopsy and it was only on Friday 14th July we were informed it is terminal gallbladder cancer. As you can imagine, we were/are all extremely shocked and heartbroken. Martin has been advised that he may only live for another 6 months.. Since Martin attended hospital on the 8th June he has lost 4 stone in weight and he has not stopped loosing weight. This has caused a lot of worry as he is starting to feel weak. After receiving Martin’s diagnosis we have been researching extensively and found out about Immunotherapy. It is looking extremely promising and we need to raise some money for this. We are hoping that the immunotherapy will prolong his life a bit longer so that he can watch our children and grandchildren grow up. We are hoping to obtain enough money so that we can put Martin through immunotherapy and any leftover money to go to Gallbladder Cancer research as there is very limited information on it. Any support would be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small. Thank you for taking your time to read Martins story. Natasha
