Hello fam! I'm Eryn & we're (FINALLY) starting a fundraising page for Emily's past and expected medical debt. Once upon a time, Emily was born and the insanity began. Emily's family has a history of heart issues so that's great. Her first heart attack was in 2018 with a handful of others since. She currently has NO medical insurance to help cover future testing as a diagnosis for the root cause has not been identified. The facts: Current diagnosis: Neutropenia: An abnormally low count of a type of white blood cell (neutrophils). It can be caused by diseases that damage the bone marrow, infections, or certain medications. Recurrent pericarditis: Pericarditis is inflammation of the pericardium, a sac-like structure with two thin layers of tissue that surround the heart to hold it in place and help it work. aFib: atrial fibrillation (AF), which is a type of arrhythmia, or abnormal heartbeat. Pericardial effusions: buildup of extra fluid in the space around the heart. Spongey kidney: underdeveloped kidney Right bundle branch block Low Potassium Iron deficiency High blood pressure Plus some bonus one for seasoning. Testing Needed: Consult with Rheumatologist for autoimmune disease (possible Lupus diagnosis as root cause) TEE (Transesophageal echo) Cardiac MRI Mayo (Rochester, MN) specialist appt Cardiac Ablation Pericardial effucions Current Debt: $16,022.29 Expected expenses & ongoing care: $15,000 (at least) Emily does NOT like asking for help. She's a freaking amazing human and she's in a tough spot. Anyone that has spent time with Emily knows she is constantly finding a way to laugh. On average, she's living at a 5 pain level (1-10) daily. ‍♀️ The stress of past and future medical debt and not having a diagnosis does not help.
