Meet Lyla Rose. Our wonderful, beautiful grand daughter. Born with spina bifida, Lyla has been a real trooper, and an inspiration to everyone she meets. She's defied the odds that said she's be mentally impaired due to hydrocephalus, she's walked when we were told she wouldn't, and achieved so much in life because she's always said "Well I can try".This Spring, the doctors said that Lyla's knees , ligaments and tendons were deteriorating and she'd soon be in a wheelchair permanently. A Surgical repositioning of the leg bones and heels might make a difference, giving her more years of mobility. In December, Lyla will have surgery. She'll be wheelchair bound for a only a few months and then she'll begin to learn to walk again. Our challenge is, this: To bring her home from the hospital, 70miles away, we need a wheelchair accessible van. To bring her into the house, we need a wheel chair lift. Since meeting the surgeons, we've found little success with grants. So, we're trying LFEBridge and hoping to be able to drive her home from the hospital, to and from doctor visits, and give her all she may need to achieve walking into at least her adulthood. If you'd like to help, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and will vow to pay it forward.
