My name is nikki I am fundraising for my daughter lux. Lux is 7yr old, she has severe acquired aplastic anemia. Severe aplastic anemia also known as SAA is a bone marrow disease. The bone marrow is the soft, spongy tissue inside bones. SAA causes the bone marrow to not make enough blood cells for the body. With that being said lux's bone marrow is failed and her body does not make enough platelets on its own to stop her from bleeding or bruising. Her blood doesn't not clot properly. We have been battling this for over a year. In the last year lux has had a bone marrow biopsy, genetics resting, blood draws weekly, platelet transfusions weekly and blood transfusion. The platelet transfusions are just a bandaid, Lux is going to have to be admitted to a children's hospital where she will have her whole immune system wiped and rebooted with immune suppressants. This means a hospital stay for her and I and staying close to the hospital afterwards. This money will be going towards housing, food, gas, and any medical expenses.
