When you hear about tragic accidents, you never expect it to be you. You never expect it to be your family. And then one day here you are living your worst nightmare. Every moment that passes you ask yourself is this real? When will I wake up? Trying to remain strong to keep a level head and get through it. Don't show weakness. On July 1st, our mother, our wife, our friend, Lela Carpenter, had an accident where she fell after getting out of the shower. She broke her neck and is currently in ICU with life saving devices keeping her here with us for the time being. She has already undergone 2 surgeries in her short time here. Everyone who knows her knows how strong she is, how much of a fighter she is. We are working closely with every medical professional on her case to get her breathing on her own again and taking the right steps to see just how bad this accident truly is. After she spends her time here and they stabilize her she will be transferred to a place called an LTAC. Long Term Acute Care facility, somewhere that specializes in spinal injuries. The nearest one to us is 7 to 8 hours away. This will be a long journey ahead of us, especially for mom. All the prayer warriors out there please pray for all the healing and miracles for whatever you believe in to help her. Pray for movement in all of her limbs and that quadriplegic to never be in our vocabulary. The Dr's keep saying it, but if we pray hard enough for a miracle we won't have to! The cost of gas to get back and fourth is extremely expensive along with all of the other medical expenses we will endure. If you can donate anything helps! If not please just share!! Most of all please just pray and send good vibes our way.
