My name is Kadence Nye and my friends Delaney Peake, Olivia Schacht, and Bode Hill were tragically hit head-on by a drunk driver late at night/early morning on the 4th/5th of July on their way home from dropping off a friend after a night of fun. The drunk driver came up an exit ramp and continued to go down Legacy Highway in the wrong direction, and hit the front passenger side of the victim's car after they swerved at the last minute, crushing the entirety of the passenger side. Olivia, the driver, was left with minor physical injuries of a twisted ankle and bruises. Bode was sitting on the right back passenger seat, leaving with a bubble in his lungs, bruises, and cuts. Laney, she was sitting in the front passenger seat. Being hit directly and pinned between the car and seat, she is suffering from her left wrist fractured, her right ulnar and radius fractured in 3 different places, her right humerus fractured, an open compound fracture of her right femur, her left foot fractured, and her lower back is broken on her right transverse process of L4, along with cuts and bruises all over her body including in her mouth. Not only are they suffering physically but they are suffering mentally with flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, depression, and guilt. Laney is currently hospitalized with a long road to recovery, which will include multiple surgeries, 24 hour CNA care, physical therapy and so much more. These three people did not deserve to go through this traumatic event. All donations will be going towards medical bills, therapy bills, home renovations for medical needs, doctor visits, legal bills, and the overall recovery process for all victims. These three individuals are my best friend, it hurts me to see them struggling with the pain they were left with due to one person's choice to get behind the wheel while being intoxicated. Any donations are greatly appreciated, to help them get through this recovery process with access to the equipment and support they need to make it more comfortable.
