Hi, as most of you know, our dear friend and colleague Louise Walker from CIRIA has recently been diagnosed with a form of Motor Neurone Disease and she is finishing work very soon to spend her remaining time with her family. She has a teenage daughter and her husband, Matt, and she is making a list of things that she would like to do with them while her health allows. One of the activities on her list is to go for a hot-air balloon ride with her daughter and I have set the LFEBridge target to cover the cost of that trip and perhaps a holiday in York when she books the Balloon Ride. However, I shall make sure that Louise still wants to go ahead with the ride before I use the money to buy a hot-air balloon ride. She may change her mind and, if she does, she will be free to use your donated money for whatever she chooses. I will also arrange for all of us to sign a card to accompany the donated gift and you will be welcome to sign the card, whether or not you are in a position to donate to the LFEBridge fund. Louise has been a wonderful, friendly, inspiring part of the SuDS community for many years and I know that many of us will want to send her our love and best wishes as she finishes work, and to send her a gift as a mark of our love & respect for her.
