My name is Manuel, and Loly, my mum, needs help. She's been diagnosed with Cancer in the upper region of her throat, near the vocal cords and just above her glottis. It's a challenge. It's serious. It's started to affect her breathing and eating abilities, and it's affecting her voice. If it goes untreated, the cancer will inevitably grow to take over her throat and will require a complete tracheotomy leaving her without a voice, unable to breathe properly and eating through a bag. But with the right treatment, there's plenty of hope for a cure. And you can help us. Her doctors believe she could fully recover with an intense treatment of everyday Radiotherapy and once a week Chemo for about eight weeks. Loly lives in Venezuela, where the necessary treatment is available, but it is expensive and way beyond our possibilities to afford. This is why we're reaching out for some help. Loly's treatment costs are as follows: 1. Chemotherapy once a week for seven weeks for $3.333 2. The additional Chemo products she needs at an estimated $1276 2. Radiotherapy for seven weeks for $7890 3. Two CT Scans - One done pre-diagnosis and one pre-radiotherapy at $750 4. Weekly blood tests before every new chemo session, approx. $300 5. Medicine for nausea, vomiting and other side effects of the Chemo at about $300 6. House help/carer for about $800 7. Additional Scans 8. Post-treatment care Additionally, the company my mum works for has generously and wonderfully lent her the money for the initial biopsy, which came at $4000 (Full O.R. had to be hired and general anaesthesia needed) - and she is now in their debt which we need to honour, especially because they were there for her when she needed it the most. HOWEVER - If, after eight weeks, the disease has receded but not completely disappeared, Loly cannot risk pauses to her treatment to find more money. So we are building a safety net of an extra couple of weeks' contingency. We hope you can find it in your heart to donate as little or as much as you can afford. We will appreciate every donation because it will help Loly keep writing her stories and fully enjoy life in her golden years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind donation. Radiotherapy for seven weeks for $7890 3.
