Hi, my name is Katherine, and I am fundraising for Maria "Lolita" Ortiz and her family. A couple weeks ago, Lolita and her 17-year-old daughter, Cherli, were driving in Charlottesvile, Va., when a car ran through a red light and T-boned their small SUV. Their car was totaled and Lolita broke 13 bones, including pelvic bones and ribs. She underwent three surgeries and spent about a week at the hospital and is now home with her family. She has a difficult six-month recovery ahead of her. Her recovery is made tougher by the fact that she has two sweet little ones at home: 2-year-old Angie and 3-month-old Angel. Cherli is a huge help, but it's too much for a 17-year-old to handle on her own. Lolita has worked for my family for a decade and is a strong, caring, faith-filled person. I know she is anxious to heal and get back to her daily life working and caring for her family. In the meantime, her family will undoubtedly struggle to cover living expenses since Lolita is the primary breadwinner. Would you consider chipping in to help cover her living expenses and medical bills? Any amount will help!
