The past few months have been a complete whirlwind and through a series of incredibly unbelievable events, Jesus is calling me to train with Circuit Riders (CR), a YWAM Discipleship Training School, to become a missionary. Let me tell you more... My whole life, I have always wanted to follow the Lord to the ends of the Earth and proclaim the good news that Jesus saves (Amen!). But I've never really known where, when or how to start. For the past few years, I have been discerning the call to train in missions. Various life events delayed me saying yes and made me hesitant to take this huge leap of faith. "Don't you dare be disobedient..." The Saturday before Easter, I was attending a conference and went forward for prayer. While a leader was praying for me, they felt God saying to me, very sensitively, but rather intensely, "Don't you dare be disobedient". After praying with a friend, we discerned that the Lord was about to ask me to do something and I would, of course, need to obey Him. We felt that Jesus was about to call me into something that would be so huge for the Kingdom of God, that to disobey Him would be similar to when Jonah fled away from Nineveh. Of course, we all know how the story of Jonah ends and I don’t really fancy being swallowed by a large fish! "I know you were thinking before about maybe having a career break to try CR! I’d love to chat more..." On the following Monday night, I prayed and asked God to give me a clear sign of where He would like me to go. I was hoping for a prophetic dream or sign telling me exactly where and when to go, and what to do there. Instead of waking up from a prophetic dream, I woke up at 7am, to the sad news that my Grandma had peacefully passed away in the night. This was quite the opposite of what I was expecting to wake up to. While I was relieved that my Grandma was finally called home after many years of illness, I knew the news would be particularly hard for my cousins, who were both close to her. After praying and starting to process the news, I wanted to reach out to them. Although I’ve given up Instagram for 2024, I felt it was the right thing to do to log back on and message them. At the exact moment I sent my message, I got a message from an old friend from school, Iggie. She said, "I know you were thinking before about maybe having a career break to try CR [Circuit Riders]! I’d love to chat more if you're still keen." I went from being half awake to wide awake. I had literally asked God to show me where to go and what to do only 10 hours prior. God was giving me a clear sign. "You get two options in the Christian life: you can either be sent, or you can be disobedient..." After an amazing conversation with Iggie, some more prayer and conversations with my dearest friends, I started my application. But, of course, doubt started to creep in. What if this was just a coincidence? On the following Thursday, to put my mind at ease, I decided to quickly log back into Instagram again and check out CR's page. I was scrolling through their feed and recognised a man on one of their reels as someone who had preached, extremely passionately, at an event I'd been to months before. I opened it and I was amazed by what he said. You can watch it here, and trust me, you’ll want to watch it: https://www.instagram.com/p/CofnEE3jlo0/ For those who don't have Instagram, at the end of the video he states, "You get two options in the Christian life: You can either be sent, or you can be disobedient..." My jaw dropped. This was only 5 days after someone had felt God telling me to not be disobedient. You literally can't make this up. In that moment, my heart just knew: God is asking me to train as a missionary with Circuit Riders. God is asking me to seek His Kingdom first. God is asking me to be obedient. "Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders..." You'd think this story of crazy coincidences would end here, but in many ways, God was just getting started. The next day was Good Friday and I told my dear friend, Grace, all about the events of the week. After getting past the initial shock, Grace said she was reminded of the lyrics from the song, Oceans: "Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters wherever you would call me." Beautiful lyrics to be reminded of by a beautiful friend. And then came Easter Sunday- what a glorious day. I asked another dear friend, Emily, for prayer as, while I was excited, I was still nervous. As she prayed, she was reminded of the very same lyrics, "Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters wherever you would call me." She got the exact same lyrics! Of the hundreds of songs the Holy Spirit could have placed on Emily’s heart, He gave her the same one He had played on Grace’s heart. I was full of so much joy in that moment, that my nerves disappeared. A few weeks after all this happened, CR happened to be in London running evangelism events. I decided to go along and joined a random team, heading to Leicester Square to evangelise. As we were splitting off into pairs to go and evangelise, a busker started playing her violin. You will never guess the song she played... Oceans! There I was, in the middle of Leicester Square, with the very people currently doing the DTS I was applying for and this beautiful violinist started playing Oceans. I have never had God speak so clearly to me in so many different ways and through so many different people. "Where you go, I go..." And this is my whole testimony. Apologies for the length, but I felt I had to tell it in all its glory for you to truly understand how clearly God is speaking to me and how much it is God who deserves all the glory. My verse for this season is from Ruth 1:16, "Where you go, I go, and where you stay, I stay". I will be obedient to this call and I will go wherever God is sending me. I humbly ask you now, to prayerfully consider supporting me financially on this journey and join me on this adventure of obedience.
