Cancer is never something you expect to happen to you or someone you love. It's always someone else's story, but when it becomes part of yours, life changes in an instant. This is Lisa's story. Background In September 2024, Lisa's story changed when she received a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. The past 23 months have been filled with 30+ rounds of chemotherapy, CT scans, doctors appointments, up days, down days and every emotion under the sun. But even in the midst of the battle, she continues to serve her community as a Reserve Deputy for the Chisago County Sheriff's Office, and speak at cancer benefits sharing hope to those who need it most. She's living her life with purpose and determination because for this warrior, cancer became a call to action, not a call to surrender. Now, as she embarks on the next part of her journey, she seeks the support of a caring community to stand by her side. Current Lisa received a ray of hope when she was approved to participate in a groundbreaking clinical trial that holds promise for pancreatic cancer patients. However, to access this treatment, she must travel to MD Anderson in Houston, TX every 21 days for the next 30 months. While this opportunity is a true blessing, the financial strain of travel and lodging has proven to be a significant challenge. This is where your support as a donor becomes invaluable. Every dollar raised will help cover travel and medical expenses, ensuring she can continue receiving the life-saving treatment that offers hope in her courageous battle.
