Hey, my names Gabby I am 30 years old and I have recently been diagnosed with stage 3 of Lipoedema. I have made the decision to create a go fund me to help raise money for my Lipoedema extraction surgery as I will be needing 4 surgeries in total, 3 for my legs 1 for my arms and abdomen. This procedure is not recognized by private health it is not a selective surgery it is medical. Lipoedema is a progressive painful fat disease that can continue to progress through any hormonal change which could impact my mobility and further impact my mental health. There is no known cure for this fat disease just being able to maintain it the best way I know how which is through diet (eating anti-inflammatory foods), MLD therapy, exercise, wearing compression garments, using compression pumps and using vibration boards. However as mentioned could progress through hormone change and being completely out of my control. I have been active in sports from a young age and became consistent in the gym for over 10years. I have always been working with PTs and nutritionists trying to understand my body. I could never understand why my scale weight never shifted why the CMs in my arms and legs never shifted, and why my fat percentage remained so high. Yet I was putting in the hard work like everyone else and keeping consistent. I was always searching for answers because I knew this is not my body. I accepted I’m bigger and was proud of my mindset aslong as I’m fit healthy and strong I’m ok I’m doing the best I can, but being a young female it does suck especially losing all confidence in my personal life. I learnt what lipoedema was back in 2024 I had never heard of it before and did not want to believe I had it. From years and years of searching for answers since I was a child I finally received my diagnosis I have a fat disease that has no known cure and can impact my quality of life I have decided to go a surgical route and it is not cheap. I have managed to save enough for 3 of my surgeries using everything I have worked for, for my future but this takes priority. I am in need of help for the 4th. No donation is to small everything helps and will be greatly appreciated. This will be life changing for me and help me walk with freedom away from Lipoedema. Each surgery is roughly $15,000. That’s just the price for the surgery there is a lot of ongoing medical costs for recovery and maintenance. Thankyou for reading my story :)
