Hi family and friends. As many of you know, baby Sloan made his appearance two weeks early. As much as I would like to report that mama and baby are doing great, unfortunately that is not the case. After a trip to the hospital, Maggie was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis and kidney failure, resulting in emergency C-section. Due to multiple issues from the ongoing pancreatitis complications, Maggie is still at EAMC while a team of doctors work hard to figure out how to get her well. Maggie's case is unique and the complications unusual, leaving the doctors scratching their heads as they all work together trying to figure out what's going on. Due to this, we are unsure when she will be released. In the middle of dealing with Maggie's medical complications, they discovered baby Sloan had a rare condition of spontaneous perforation in his intestines. After only 2 days of life, he was immediately rushed to Children's hospital in Birmingham for emergency surgery. During the surgery, they removed 15 cm of his intestines and placed a colostomy bag while it heals. Although the surgery was successful and he is doing well, it is unknown how long he will be there, possibly up to 16 weeks. The ultimate goal is to get Maggie healed so that she can reunite with Sloan and Mathan in Birmingham while Sloan heals at Children's hospital. As you know, the cost of expenses from traveling, gas, food, hotels etc. add up super quick. Not to mention the loss of work income. So, I come to y'all, our people, our army of loved ones, asking for support. Many have asked how they can help, so we are giving you the opportunity. Besides all the prayers we can get, you can donate as your heart leads you. Thank you so much!❤️
