I'm raising funds on behalf of my dad, John Marston, so that he can receive both a life-saving heart valve replacement surgery and the required dental treatments to prepare for it. It's standard procedure to have a dental exam before major heart surgery. After John's exam, the doctor concluded that he would need treatment for dental infections before the heart operation could take place. This precaution was necessary to prevent bacteria from entering the bloodstream, which could potentially cause surgical complications. As a result, John now needs several dental procedures in addition to heart surgery. John has been on social disability income for decades and doesn't have the insurance to afford a heart valve replacement and the dental care that doctors say he needs to prepare for the procedure. Doctors think he's young enough that he would recover well from the heart surgery, but his pre-existing dental issues must be resolved before even scheduling the operation. The necessary dental treatments will take a while to get through, and the sooner my dad can schedule his heart surgery, the better. He lives in a small town in Indiana and there aren't a lot of alternative options to afford proper dental care. Because of his heart, his breathing has become harder and even simple tasks like taking walks have become difficult and painful. Anyone who knows my dad knows he's a kind and good-humored person who loves helping others as much as enjoying the next Top Gun movie (he recently saw the new one). Growing up, I couldn't have asked for a more supportive and loving father, and any help you can offer would ensure he sticks around for a good long while. We would immensely appreciate any support you can offer John on his way to dental care, heart surgery, and the road to recovery. Even just sharing this post could help him out. Thank you!
